Do you have gift options?

I ordered a subscription to start on December 25th. Where is my whisky?

Subscriptions started, or renewed by the 15th of the month are processed for delivery by the end of the month.  However, due to high seasonal volumes for couriers this time of year, orders may be received early in the new year.  Some new subscribers who are purchasing gifts are choosing to start their subscription in January for delivery by the end of the month.  They are leaving a card in a stocking or under the tree, etc. for the lucky recipient. :) 

Is the subscription price for the whole year or am I charged every delivery?

We are so excited to have you join our Whisky Club!  We do not have any annual dues or membership fees.  Your subscription is charged for each delivery.  For example, if you sign-up for a quarterly subscription, you will be charged every quarter.  If you select a monthly subscription you will be charged monthly for rare and hard to find whisky.  Taxes and shipping are included.   

Is there a fee to join the Whisky Subscription Club?

No Membership fee. You only pay for the subscriptions you order.

How does The Whisky Subscription Club work?

The Whisky Concierge Whisky Subscription Club is a subscription-based service. Whiskies are curated by certified Whisky Ambassadors, who are globally recognized whisky experts. When you order by the 15th you will receive your first delivery by the end of the month.  Future deliveries are based on the frequency you choose, monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly.  You can manage (pause or cancel) your subscription at anytime.

What does rare and hard to find mean for this whisky club?

Hard to find whisky is not readily available at your provincial liquor agency.  Rare refers to a whisky that may have come from a single cask, is a limited edition or there are very few bottles produced or left in circulation. We check all the major sites across the country prior to selecting our whiskies for the month.  On occasion, a whisky for subscribers may show up at a provincial liquor agency. Our primary intent is to offer subscribers something not typically available at their local spirit venue.

When do I get my first delivery?

Initial orders must be placed by the 15th of the month for delivery by the end of the same month (barring any delivery delays).  For example, if you make your first order on the 10th, you will get your delivery by the end of the same month.  If you order on the 16th, you will get your order at the end of the following month.

When will I get my 2nd, 3rd, 4th delivery, etc?

Your credit card on file will be charged automatically on the 15th of the month (except for the initial order).  Your delivery will be sent by the end of the month barring any delivery delays like weather, seasonality, courier issues, etc. 

Are you only available in Canada?

Yes, we currently serve subscribers from coast to coast in Canada. Future markets will grow as our global network of whisky procurement specialists grows with us.

Do you offer whiskies from other countries or just scotch?

Yes.  Indeed our passion started with Scotch whisky. However, we are keen explorers of the emerging world of whiskies.  We have a World of Whisky Subscription for those who want to try premium whisky from around the world.

Can you help me source a specific bottle of whisky outside my subscription?

Yes!  Subscribers who are looking for a specific whisky (or two or three) can contact us for help.  Once sourced, we will quote you a price that includes taxes/delivery. Just ask, anytime.

Do you provide tasting notes?

Subscribers can join us on Instagram or Facebook to get the latest tasting notes for monthly releases.  Just answer the question or send us a direct message with the most recent whisky you received (a picture to share with our Club is even better).  We will welcome you to the group!

Can you share with me a sample of previous deliveries?

Yes.  Subscribe to our newsletter (bottom of this page) and we will keep you up to date on previous deliveries from The Whisky Concierge.  We send updates no more than once per month (unless there is an exclusive offer like our Whisky Calendar).  If you are already a subscriber to the Whisky Club then we may send exclusive offers more frequently.

Shipping Your Subscription

Do I need to sign for my delivery?

Yes.  A signature is required and proof of legal drinking age in order to receive your delivery.  If you will not be home for your delivery, please use your work address.  If you are not available for the delivery, it will be sent to a post office or pick-up point near you for pick up.

Can I track my delivery?

Yes.  Once a delivery is shipped, a notification with the tracking information will be sent to the email provided when you subscribed.  Please check your junk mail folders if expecting a delivery.

What do I do I when my order is damaged?

Refuse the delivery when damage is apparent.  Do not sign for the package and let Canada post return it to us. Take a few pictures if you are able to. Contact us immediately and we will make arrangements for the replacement or provide you with a credit.

What happens if I miss my delivery and do not pick it up at the post office or courier in time?

The delivery will be returned to us.  If you would like us to ship it out again, there will be a $100 reshipping fee.  Canada Post usually allows 10 business days for pick-up while other couriers may allow for only a few days.  It is a subscribers responsibility to pick up their shipment as noted on the delivery notification.  The Whisky Concierge is not responsible for shipments that are not picked-up on time.

What if I need to redirect the package to another address but it has already been shipped?

If the delivery can be redirected we will confirm with you as soon as possible. There will be a minimum $50 redirection fee, which will be paid prior to redirection.

What if I provided the wrong address when I subscribed or I moved? What are my next steps?

If the delivery can be redirected we will confirm with you as soon as possible. There will be a minimum $50 redirection fee, which will be paid prior to redirection.  If the shipment is returned to us, there will be a $100 fee to reship to your updated address.

Do you ever hold deliveries?

When the temperatures in some parts of the country plummets well below -10 degrees we may decide to hold deliveries for a few days to ensure quality of the whisky. We notify all subscribers by email if their delivery will be delayed due to weather conditions. Trust us, it is worth the wait.

Do you deliver anywhere in Canada?

Yes.  We deliver anywhere Canada Post delivers and can recognize your address.  For some of our subscribers, their delivery may be received shortly after the months end due to distance the spirit must travel.  Rest assured it will be worth the wait.

Subscriber Questions

Can I send a Subscription as a gift?

Yes you can!  How thoughtful of you!!! Anyone of our subscriptions can be given as a gift.  Order by the 15th of the month for delivery by months end, barring any shipping delays.  Include a note to the very lucky recipient for the first delivery.

Can I pay for a yearly subscription?

Yes you can! Pay for an annual gift of 4 deliveries (1 bottle every 3 months).  The lucky recipient will enjoy a rare or hard to find single malt scotch or world whisky not typically available their local spirit venue.  Order by the 15th of the month for delivery by months end, barring any shipping delays.  Add a gift message as well for the first shipment!  More details: The Gift of Whisky

Can you supply glassware/whisky glasses?

Yes.  Certified Whisky Ambassadors typically use authentic Glencairn crystal glassware.  These are special order items and we can help you acquire the preferred scotch whisky glass to hold your latest acquisitions.

Do you offer whisky's in small batches (i.e. tasting boxes)?

Currently we offer subscriptions with full size bottles (700ml or 750ml). Stay tuned as we look to the future for other premium options for subscribers.

What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel your subscription at any time.  We do not offer refunds for orders that have been shipped.  Send us a message if you have any questions.
